Dental Implants

DENTAL IMPLANTS

Dental implants are titanium fixtures surgically implanted below the gum tissue and into the jawbone. The purpose of an implant is to replace one or more missing teeth (whether missing before or after you visit us) with implant crowns or bridges. They are often used to replace all teeth with implant-supported bridges.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF DENTAL IMPLANTS?

  • Look and feel like natural teeth
  • Stabilize partial or complete dentures for more confidence when eating or speaking
  • A permanent solution to missing teeth
  • More durable and convenient than dentures

ARE DENTAL IMPLANTS RIGHT FOR ME?

During an initial consultation, we’ll determine if a dental implant is the right choice for restoring your smile and boosting your confidence.

CARING FOR YOUR DENTAL IMPLANTS

After you receive your dental implants, it’s important to take care of them — especially during post-operative recovery. After surgery, you’ll want to make sure you:

  • Take medications as prescribed by your oral surgeon
  • Avoid brushing the area for 2–3 days or as directed
  • Use oral rinse as prescribed for 10 days
  • Avoid biting or chewing with temporary restorations until numbness has subsided. Only eat soft foods – yogurt, cottage cheese, soups, soft-cooked eggs and ground meat – for the first several months after surgery.
  • Do NOT chew hard and crunchy foods
  • Avoid hot or spicy foods until your gums are healed
  • Do NOT smoke or use any tobacco products until healing is complete. Using tobacco increases the risk of your body rejecting the implants.

TESTIMONIALS

“Needless to say, I smile a lot more without covering my mouth! I can eat whatever I want (hot or cold) without fear of pain and I don’t have to ‘take my teeth out’ to clean them (a little vain). Consider your quality of life when considering implants. It is costly but the benefit of living without pain and embarrassment is a personal decision. Dr. Nick and his staff are the best! Caring, friendly and professional. They consider the whole person and their lifestyle, and treat you with dignity (and a little more).”
